“It is like a piece of my soul had been lost, empty, and it is now filled with the light of a million stars. They are all I had ever dreamed of; they are nothing I ever expected. I will never, never be the same. I have seen the stars. Real stars.” - Across the Universe by Beth Revis
My name is Lizzie and I’m a twenty-one year old from a little city near Akron, OH. I am a lover of all things space, a love that I’ve held for as long as I can remember. Books and words and writing make me happiest. I have been encouraged to read avidly since I was very young, which I’m so grateful for. It’s incredibly common for me to attend two or more concerts a week; music is pretty much my life. Some of my favorite artists include RED, Mumford & Sons, Haim, Gold Fields, Lovelife, The Neighbourhood, Hands, Lana Del Rey, and The xx. I’m in a continuous phase of change, which is reflected by the redecoration of my room that occurs at least twice a month. =) I live everyday waiting for Bonnaroo, a music festival held in Southern Tennessee every June. It holds a very special place in my heart. I have an obsession with nail polish and art, and never will you catch me without my nails painted one color or another. My friends also tell me that I have an unhealthy obsession with Black Milk Clothing, but I don’t see the problem. ;)
In addition to blogging, I currently work as a freelance web designer for professionals in the entertainment industry. I am also an aspiring Young/New Adult author and a college student studying Information Technology. No, I don’t really know what the heck I’m doing with my life but who does?
Lizzie Writes was originally opened under the name Darkly Honest on Blogspot.com on September 1st 2010. It was moved to the domain lizziewrites.com in August 2012, and it is now powered by WordPress. I post books reviews, giveaways, updates on my websites, and more on this blog. The current theme is titled “Little House on the Galaxy” and was designed by me and coded by Siobhan. The image of space was found on HubbleSite.org.
